In a world teetering on the brink, colossal creatures known as Kaiju wreak havoc, leaving humanity trembling in their wake. Once, Kafka Hibino dreamed of standing against them, side-by-side with his childhood friend Mina, as members of the elite Defense Force. But life had other plans, relegating him to cleaning up the Kaiju's devastating messes. However, the spark of ambition is rekindled when Kafka encounters the driven Reno Ichikawa. Inspired by Reno's unwavering resolve, Kafka is thrust back into the fight, forced to confront not only the monstrous Kaiju but also his own shattered dreams.
